Police tactics review

Sorry it took so long folks but to be honest I had to see this one twice (and heavily rely on the rewind button). The fourth chapter in the "yakuza papers" saga and let me start off by saying that if you haven't seen the previous three instalments then I wouldn't advise you jumping straight into this as you really would be at a disadvantage. OK, on to the review. I pride myself on having a good memory and seeing messages in films (among other things) others might miss but even I have to admit this fourth instalment had me scratching my noggin at times (hence the repeated viewing) and constant rewinding to see who's who. Still this one was a lot more enjoyable than the third chapter. Reason being was that it was back with the message of the first film or at least a very similar message. You could also say that the roles of the yakuza and the police force were similar in nature whereas one abided by the law and one strived to go beyond. Oo-er; nearly gave it away there didn't I? slip ups will happen at the best of times eh. Anyway I came away impressed: yes I did spend a lot more time on this chapter than the others but also had a better understanding for that. It's almost wrapping up now (last film left) and it is doing that in a most satisfying way. Director Fukasaku sure knows how to tell a complex story and at the same time not make it overly complex...just enough to keep the viewer on his or her toes (yes girls, give it a viewing and you might thank me). Am tempted to watch the fifth chapter straight away but am going to leave it till after new years day (heehee) so you all will just have to wait. Worth watching??? DUH have you lot even read my reviews?
