Batman VS Superman dawn of justice review

When it was announced that director Zack Snyder was going to do this movie I was skeptical to say in the least. When the casting was announced I was even more skeptical....in fact I was on the verge of pulling my hair out. I mean, c'mon now...Jesse Eisenburg as Luthor, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne and Adams is STILL a poor choice to play Lois Lane...AARRGGHH!!! As time grew close I found out that they are going to include Wonder Womans character WTF??!! At that time my thinking was that it wasn't bad enough to give the directing reins to Snyder but then had to rub salt on wounds by including a lacklustre cast. Yep, I was ready to condemn this movie even before it came out. Well guys and gals 25th March came and went but I didn't want to go see the film as it would have lowered the two iconic superheroes in my eyes. BUT my nephews, nieces, sisters and even my brother saw and came back with a positive attitude towards the movie so I thought to myself that I was being too harsh and what's the worst case scenario if I did go see it. Ok, so truth be told the first time I saw it I hated it...never did I want to walk out of the cinema so much. Then I borrowed "man of steel" and saw it at home before going for a second time (with others) to see BvS. Second time around I kind of enjoyed  the film...still a mess but an enjoyable mess. So what changed my outlook on said film? Well to be honest I didn't focus on the story second time around instead chose to look at the acting.  All the actors did a good job (Adams is the ONLY exception here: I'm sorry but she IS a poor choice for Lois Lane). Affleck did pull off a dark and brooding batman well and was a stark contrast to Henry Cavill's Superman. The actor that really did surprise me was Eisenburg as Luthor;  I mean this is a "popcorn movie" actor we are talking about here and he IS as deranged and as psychotic as his on screen portrayal (and I thought Kevin Spacey was good). Now on to the things that were bad...Gal Gadot (who??) as Wonder Woman...where does she fit into all of this? Is she there to alleviate the tension? Secondly what is with doomsday??  he looks like a freakin' ninja turtle on steroids plus as any comic book fan knows his origins are no where close to what is shown in the film. These two things really got on my nerves...well that and the choice of director (yes he got a comic book feel to "300" but wasn't a real smart choice for this). I would say that this is another one of those "marmite" films (you either love it or hate it) but in all fairness, it is a good watch and is deserving of a chance.
