In this day and age, who has the time to read long reviews? So why not read opinions (one persons opinions but opinions nevertheless). As the title says, you will find my opinions on not only movies but gadgets, wearables, food or whatever I have an opinion about. Short disclaimer: these are MY opinions, they are not meant to offend anyone or be offensive. I started this blog as a hobby and it will continue to be my hobby and I will add to it whenever I have the time.

Slither review
For those of you who enjoyed "shaun of the dead" or even "night of the creeps" then this movie is for you. Keeping more in line with "night" and keeping the tongue-in-cheek humour of "shaun" this movie is a treat to watch. "Why" I hear you ask? Simple to answer; it is because it utilises both old skool effects as well as newer effects. Of course it is very easy to spot which effects are done practically rather than digitally but I would say that this is done on purpose as it is not a film that takes itself too seriously. For the more eagle eyed viewers among you there are a few references and nods to previous movies of a similar genre. Some if not all effects are done in a rather disgusting manner and it is nice to see practical effects are not a dying breed and can blend in with the new. Of even more interest (to me) is the "effects" documentary and the "making of" included on the DVD. I found it a shame to find out that this film bombed at the box office as it deserved so much more. On to the acting now: all of the actors did do a good job...OK, some better than others and in the end you will be hard pressed to find anyone who performed sub-par. In my opinion the actor who gave a truly creepy performance was Michael Rooker (he's actually creepy in nearly everything he does). So, to summarize...if you like tongue-in-cheek humour and a parody of parodies then you will enjoy this. However, in parts this film is actually pretty disgusting so I wouldn't eat anything while watching. Enjoy.
