The wind rises review

I do not rightly know how to go about this review. Being a fan of anime and manga, my review will reflect this so instead of fighting against it, I would rather be biased in favour. “the wind rises” is sadly the last animation of director Hayao Miyazaki (sad I know). You do not have to know anything about the aviation history it is set against although I am sure that it would help. Like Hayao Miyazaki's previous animations which are appreciated by all ages; this also is a very colourful piece to behold. There are some good attention(s) to detail and subtle attempts at humour that suck you into the story and make you gasp and admire that of which is on screen. What starts off as a semi-biographic history lesson slowly turns into a love story as only Hayao Miyazaki can write. Would I recommend this? That would be a BIG yes. “the wind rises is a more grown-up feature than its predecessors.
