Hancock review

Watched this again after a long time and still enjoyed it. Not your average run-of-the-mill super hero movie infact it is more of a fresh take on a hero who starts out as a super anti-hero. Critic reviews were not in favor of this movie on release and delivered a severe tongue lashing but public reviews (most anyway) were a bit more lenient. A true tongue-in-cheek popcorn movie featuring the loveable Will Smith paired off with Charlize Theron. Not a deep storyline or anything however, it does have its charms. This film is told and shot with entertainment intention keeping in mind it is an action fantasy so you don't want to take it too seriously and in doing just that there are plenty of moments to enjoy and while it's not exactly Shakespeare, it gives a much better range to the character than in most genre "Superhero" movies. Apart from that, it's a fun movie that looks good and is worth watching if you like superhero movies and if that doesn't grab you...then hey,think of it as another one of Will Smith's movie; probably the most likable guy on the planet.
