Went to see this because nephews want to go see it and overprotective mothers want to know if it is appropriate for them. Read my lips, YES IT IS!!!! I went in to see this in full teenage mode complete with acne and a dumbed down brain and guess what? I enjoyed it beyond measure. Unlike the previous three car wrecks of films bearing the same name, director Michael Bay is reaching the pinnacle of a learning curve and has realised that there's more to movies than trying to wow the audience and it's called having a story. Seriously, there is a fun filled and intriguing story present just don't try to read too much into it. Yes it is an action heavy and CGI fest (never a good thing in my book) but at least most of it is held back until the last half of the film and the majority is kept focussed on the story. There are a few laughs included and do not seem out of place in such a film. Although lengthy it doesn't seem too much of a stretch although I did find the last 30 minutes a bit grinding but that's just me. Overall a good movie to watch that will appeal to the kid in all of us.
