I grew up reading Stephen King books from which the majority I really enjoyed. Imagine a screenplay (penned by King himself) that closely mimics the tone and story of said book and you will have some idea of what this TV movie is. It is hard to picture anyone else other than Ron Perlman playing the lead as he does an excellent job. Yes the acting of some is a bit below par but isn't really an issue. Each scene is as if it was lifted straight from the novel and would say that it was so because the script was written by the master himself. Only thing that I was sceptical about was how the director would handle the scenes with the animals but was unnecessary as he handled it beautifully. The director Mick Garris being no stranger to adapting King's books to screen ("the shinning, bag of bones, sleepwalkers and the stand") does an exceptional job with the script in fact would go and say that this adaptation rivals "the stand"...almost. was a bit surprised at the films religious aspect but was also handled with ease. Now here's hoping that they put in production the sequel "the regulators". All said and done, if you enjoyed the book then you'll enjoy this.
In this day and age, who has the time to read long reviews? So why not read opinions (one persons opinions but opinions nevertheless). As the title says, you will find my opinions on not only movies but gadgets, wearables, food or whatever I have an opinion about. Short disclaimer: these are MY opinions, they are not meant to offend anyone or be offensive. I started this blog as a hobby and it will continue to be my hobby and I will add to it whenever I have the time.
