Now I have seen quite a few war movies but nothing like this one. This movie strips war down to its basic primal brutality as seen by those who are involved, no political undertones, no stories of grandeur and definitely no sense as to what is happening. This is war...ugly and brutal; no punches pulled. Realistically, in all the insanity mistakes are made and emotions run high but one thing is rife among the soldiers and that is a deep understanding of the situation so no apologies are in sight. I was deeply moved after watching this film and remained in a sombre mood for considerable time afterwards and that is what the power of a brilliantly made film can do. Not everyone's cup of tea but a damn good film regardless. So...in closing I will say that it is a worthy watch and an important piece of cinema history (just not for the faint of heart).
In this day and age, who has the time to read long reviews? So why not read opinions (one persons opinions but opinions nevertheless). As the title says, you will find my opinions on not only movies but gadgets, wearables, food or whatever I have an opinion about. Short disclaimer: these are MY opinions, they are not meant to offend anyone or be offensive. I started this blog as a hobby and it will continue to be my hobby and I will add to it whenever I have the time.
