Thought I'd be brave and watch this one
in 3D and even though I had a dizzy spell for a while afterwards, it
was “Jurassic world” so why complain? The 3D looked good (even
better if I could focus) and the film was also good but more of a
monster feature than a true “Jurassic park” sequel. Like the
character of Ian Malcom said in “the lost world”;
You're making all new mistakes
I think that this sums up the movie
somewhat as it is more or less the same “tried and tested” story
of the prequels but don't be fooled into thinking that it is a bad
movie...quite the opposite actually. It is a good watch and the
excellent CGI effects do not distract from the movie. There are no
return appearances of the original cast members (with the exception
of BD Wong who appears for brief moments) which is a shame as I was
expecting surprise appearances. Although this is a very predictable
film it is a great deal better than the third film in the series. All
in all as a standard creature feature this movie works really well but
as a “Jurassic ” sequel...not so good. It will however give you
your money's worth if you are looking for dinosaurs, collateral
damage and the occasional person being killed for good measure. If
you enjoyed the previous films in the trilogy then this is a no
brainer for you but my advise is that go see it as a creature feature
and you might enjoy it that much more.
On a completely different note: if you
want to see how NOT to do a review go check out ANGRY JOE'S take on
this film. This review does contain MAJOR spoilers.
