Savages review

Oliver Stone is one of my favourite directors having seen most if not all of his movies. Maybe I didn't get this one or maybe I was expecting something else: Whatever it was this was an average movie. I say average because I didn't hate it and I didn't particularly enjoy it either. For starters  the story wasn't exactly what you would call focused (to coin a phrase "it was EVERYWHERE"!) A part of me did want to like this movie but truth be told, it just wasn't as powerful as...lets say "any given Sunday" or as  messed up and surreal as "NBK" or "U-turn". Worth a rental and is more of a marmite film than anything else. The cast is impressive but is not used to full potential. If you are an Oliver Stone fan, prepare to be disappointed. Even the slightly better extended version is not enough to keep this as good as his previous films.
