The passion of the Christ review

If anyone was to ask me how this movie was then I would reply that it was extremely moving but is out of context. Let me explain, why anyone would want to see a movie about Christ's last hours is beyond me. If it focused more on the message that was conveyed by Christ then in my opinion it would have made for a better not to mention easier movie to watch. However, I will say that the entire cast was flawless and performed beyond what was expected of them: giving a truly emotional experience. Those of you who have not viewed this film before be forewarned that the brutality is taken to the extreme. To put it more simply, imagine the most violent film to date (ichi the killer, kill bill etc...) and multiply that by...oh lets say 100%. Yes it is that brutal and violent and it does effect you no matter how hardened you think you are. The last film that had a profound effect on me was "The message" and that was a PG rated film. This is an 18 rated film and one that truly DESERVES that rating. In closing I would like to say that although this movie is not for everyone (you either love it or hate it), the director Mel Gibson deserves a lot of respect for making this in the way he thought it happened. So if you think you can handle all the extreme violence and endure the torture shown then you should see it before passing any kind of judgement as to what the film is trying to say.
