K20 review

A superhero movie that doesn't take itself too seriously. If spiderman and batman were mixed together as a hybrid this would be the outcome. Like the other tongue-in-cheek film I reviewed and really enjoyed (WOOCHI if you're intersted), this also was a treat to watch. So the plot was paper thin and very predictable...but WHO CARES when its this much fun. I must say that Japanese CGI effects are slowly catching up to the Hollywood ones and it shows. There also is the traditional wire-work that we have come to expect from Japanese movies but in this case it is not done too excessively.  Although there are some pacing issues they are few and far in between and do not really take away from the main story. As a superhero movie, it works: in places even surpassing Hollywood's efforts. So if you are a manga fan or not this is an enjoyable romp mixing comedy, drama and action and fun for all.
