Thought it would be a good idea to start the new year with one of the highest grossing movies and what a movie it is. Much better than episodes 1, 2 and 3 (admit it...they were abysmal) and keeping more along the lines of the original episodes 4, 5 and 6 with the added bonus of NO Jar Jar Binx anywhere. Yes, many people are saying that this is a rehash of the originals and maybe it it but why complain? If it aint broke then why fix it? Lucas did admit to making mistakes (somewhat) with the second trilogy namely 1, 2 and 3 so this time the directing reins were passed on to J.J Abrams who gave us the note worthy reboot of "star trek" (the first one) so the hype was born and all star wars fans were hoping against hope that he would not repeat Lucas's mistakes. well guys, he did do a better than expected job: I say "better than expected" because some people just didn't like it...said it was too much like episodes 4, 5 and 6. I do agree on that front BUT it manages to combine dark and gritty with a fun factor almost perfectly. So hats off to Disney and Abrams for breaking the mold and giving us a movie that hits all the right notes of a tried and tested formula that works. Go see it...judge for yourselves and above all, have fun.
