Parasite Eve review

Hmmmm a movie made following a game or a game made following the film? I remember the game from my college days but I never played it largely because I couldn't afford to buy it but did buy a completely different game which was within my budget. Came across this movie while browsing through lists of films (not from any particular PPW site) and thought to myself "hey this sounds familiar". Okay: after watching this surprisingly good but slow movie, three things I discovered about myself.
1. I'm a true romantic at heart.
2. I'm a real sucker for romance in movies or
3. There is something wrong with me and I should get myself checked out ASAP.
Anyway, I ruled out the third reason when it dawned on me that I had seen "gone with the wind" a few dozen times (at least) so yep..reason 1 and 2 are more fitting to my character so judge me if you must. So, what did I think of the film? Two hours of pure unadulterated.....mushiness and feel good inside kind of entertainment. Pretty far fetched I'll admit but not your average or run-of-the-mill romance. This film has more than a few interesting ideas and if I was still partnered up with someone...hell I wouldn't mind watching it again. It's a perfect date-night movie to cuddle up with. Remember me mentioning that I opted to buy a more "affordable" game in my college years? Well guess what; this film had more in common with that game ("galerians" on PSX) than "Parasite Eve" game (well actually I never played that so am guessing). Some of you might find the next sentence a spoiler of sorts but I think that it's a necessary and fitting description for this film so here goes...the whole latter half of the movie brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "loving the persons essence". Grab your partner, girlfriend, boyfriend or whatever (???) and go see this. You'll be glad you did.
