Saw review

Will wonders never cease? A horror/thriller that has a good story but is not of Japanese origin. Surprise surprise, it is a fresh idea culminating out of the staleness of Hollywood who of late have been doing lame sequels or remakes that shouldn't have been made. Although this film does include the trademark of CGI gore; it doesn't show gratuitous gore effects, amplifying the effects by leaving most of the impact of "what happened next" to the imagination. The film was shot in a record breaking short time period and on a shoestring budget. Furthermore the director James Wan certainly shows that he can do more with less given by the writer Leigh ‎Whannel (who also is in the film).  The movie itself is very riveting throughout and keeps you guessing and even though you will think you have guessed the plot, you will be proven wrong time and time again. Leigh Whannel should concentrate on  his screen writing abilities as that is where he excels.
