Doomsday review

Saw this today and while it is a largely underrated film, actually enjoyed it. Sure the plot is wafer thin; almost transparent and with more holes in it than a sieve  But in similar vein to "mad max beyond thunderdome, 28 days later and gladiator"......who cares! In true sense of the word "popcorn flick" this is very enjoyable, tongue-in-cheek, ultra gory, mindless movie. Just don't try to make any sense of it. Writer/ director Neil Marshall continuing his chosen genre of films has payed homage to most action films and filled this one with clichés that will make you groan. However, continuing from his two previous outings "the descent" and "dog solders" he has succeeded in making an over the top fun filled rollercoaster to and from the apocalypse.  So if you are looking for excitement, humour and an overall kick ass chew bubble gum(sorry couldn't resist) time, Doomsday is right up your street.
