Premonition (yogen) review

In my view, no one can do horror like the Japanese. From the same team that brought us “the ring, the grudge and dark water” this film is also very slow moving/building up suspense and the feeling of raw unadulterated dread. A truly atmospheric film with a very high octane final 30 minutes that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats. Based on a manga “newspaper of terror” (which as I have found out has become somewhat of a cult hit) the director Norio Tsuruta who is most know for the third film in the “ring” trilogy continues with his trend of surreal films. Starting out as just another ordinary psycho thriller that deals with paranormal activities it gradually develops into a more darker and sinister story before delivering the final blow and leaving the viewer to decide if it was real or imagined. If this wasn't a thinking man's horror movie I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much. If you are tired of the stale “slasher” flicks that Hollywood keep recycling put on your thinking caps and go see this.
