Kung fu hustle review

This film cracked me up. I was laughing so hard that tears were streaming from my eyes. From the same mind that bought you "shaolin soccer" but in many aspects a BIGGER and better film. As in previous film, Stephen Chow is in front of the camera as well as behind it and expands on his slapstick style of comedy. There are subtle nods to other famous actors and films in this also but are easy to miss if you don't know what to look for. If this is Cow's chosen style of film making then I definitely look forward to seeing his "CJ17" soon. OK now to contradict myself...while the use of digital effects are extreme in this movie even more so than his previous film the CGI is really good (for a HK release) and although you can notice most effects they are done for laughs so are easily dismissed even by me. So in short I'd say that this film relies a bit too much on CGI but in places it does bring you out of the film. Final note...."kung fu hustle" is a blast to watch and surpasses "shaolin" by A LOT!
