The expendables 3 review

Was real psyched to go see this and spent a considerable amount at the cinema to maximise my experience. However, after seeing this it took me two full days to recover from the shock of the mundane slaughter of a movie. Really...if you have seen the first two movies which were a tongue-in-cheek nod to cheesy but highly fun to watch throwbacks to the 80's then I would warn you to stay away from this one. Firstly who came up with the bright idea to go for a 12 (PG-13 if you're American) rating? It's like watching a bad episode of "the A team" minus the explosions. The one liners are non existent in this film and we are introduced to a new team comprising of younger actors who are so one dimensional that they make Bruce Campbell look like a star. On to the one positive point; a few of the new actors cast (not pointing fingers) do do a good job. The comedy in this comes across as annoying rather than funny. Watching this I was reminded of being at a party where I didn't really care and wanted out. A film for fans and I mean that you have to be a BIG fan to enjoy this. It will put bums in seats of your local cinema but it will be because of the reputation of the first two movies and the majority of the names. In a week....it will be forgotten. Avoid it if you can.
