Under the skin review

This is a movie you'll either love or hate or in my case love to hate. Clocking at about the 2 hour mark this film is long and due to the pacing of it, seems longer. Credit due where it is due...it is a haunted, stylish and in places a thoroughly erotic drama; generally frightening in places . There are instances where this can be likened to Kubrick's work but subtle. Casting of Scarlet Johansen seems like a good choice as she plays her role expression less and emotionless for the first half building up to her quizzical face.  After the credits roll there is a moment of wtf did I just watch. As mentioned before, this one is an acquired taste and does leave you to question things.  Is this film worth watching??? Well the answer is a mixed bag to boot. If you have enjoyed director Jonathan Glazer's other previous work (sexy beast, birth) then go see it and even if you haven't it is at least worth a rental for those of you who are curious or want to see something different.
