The rise of the Krays review

Another attempt at limelight to the Kray twins. However this film, although entertaining, is better off if you watch it as a crime movie that has nothing to do with the Krays. The 1990 movie "the Krays" featured the Kemp brothers who at least looked alike and the movie "Legend" featuring Tom Hardy in both roles of the twins was a somewhat good attempt to a now jaded story. This film features the lead roles as different looking as night and day but with some good acting. Like I mentioned before, see it as a crime\gangster drama and you'll appreciate the acting: of note is actor Simon Cotton who does a really good job. Yes you can say that the writing was shallow and at time not even in chronological order and most (not all) of the actors do a lacklustre job but it is entertaining in a weird kind of way. It's just a shame that this film tried to cash in on the name of the Krays.
