The last witch hunter review

Say or think what you want about Vin Diesel...be it the acting or anything else but there is one thing that no one can deny and that is that he sure can make entertaining films. At the end of the day, isn't that what movie making is all about? Entertainment. Sure many movies do give a moral lesson or a political one or even a historical one but one thing is clear...movies are a field for entertainment and a canvas for fiction and that is what this film is. Tongue in cheek and pure entertainment from the get-go and I can vouch for that. I'm guessing that everyone has his or hers favourite "Diesel" movie (mine being the "Riddick" series) and if you really think about how far this actor has come from his first uncredited movie appearance ("awakenings" if you're curious), it is quite an achievement. I do enjoy "sword and sorcery" movies (check out my take on the sword and the sorcerer) and this is a similar kind of film. As far as I am concerned, Vin Diesel has only made one bad movie which is Babylon AD.I went to see this film not expecting much and that is exactly what I got; not much. An over exaggerated piece of fiction with heavy use of special effects (just the right amount) and a clichéd story which somehow ends up working. All in all, a good time for all who go to see this and I for one would highly recommend this.
