X-men origins wolverine review

I am no stranger to comic books or the movie adaptations. Among my favourites were the "spider-man" movies (the original Sam Raimi trilogy not the lesser reboots as mentioned in my rantings). The X-men movies were a chore for me except for "X-men days of future past" which focused on my favourite character from the whole series wolverine. Naturally I enjoyed this and the follow up movie (discussed in a separate review) and here's my take. A bit sceptical because of the 12 rating; wolverine's personality and story is dark and he has claws and claws equal blood and lots of it but this movie: although pushing the 12 rating: has next to none. Still, hey its wolverine right so must be worth it...and worth it it was. Even if you're not familiar with the comics, it is a very strong possibility that you will enjoy this film. It is also hard to imagine any other actor as wolverine as Hugh Jackman does an adequate job (although not his best acting). Best bet is not to go into this with expectations of the full ferocity and darkness of said character from the comics otherwise the feature would have pulled an 18 rating (or above if possible). A very enjoyable film but shame about the lead character not being explored to his full potential.
