Ghostbusters review

This review has been long overdue and the main reason for this was because I had bought into the hype of some if not all (wannabe) critics. I was hearing all sorts of gossip about this film from "a disaster of a film" to just being "a straight up insult to the original". The most influential person whose comments I bought into was non other than AVGN (or James Rolfe) and if by any chance he is reading this then I'd like to say to him to go see this before he passes any BS comments (and that goes for other movies as well). Is this a good film? Not really but it is an enjoyable ride while it lasts. The original "ghostbusters" was and always shall remain a classic in everyone's minds. For the new (MTV) generation this film works as it has a lot of slapstick humour...a bit over the top humour but it fits. What did produce a smirk from me was the role reversals: it was interesting (and funny in places) to see how the other sex see us. Is it worth a cinema ticket? Well if I didn't have a pass then no; I would rather wait for this to be on TV to watch at my leisure. To be fair to everyone (I hope), this is a pleasant update to the franchise: not a reboot or a remake but an UPDATE so that the original stays what it should be, classic.
