Suicide squad review

I finally got to see this movie. Having sat down with my laptop I started out writing a review which turned out to be a short essay because I had so much to say about this film. To be quite honest I was having some trouble shortening the review so I thought to myself "what the hell" and started from scratch. Not to give anything away. this film focuses more on the back story of the characters than the actual story line. Not a bad thing but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't and in this case it walks a fine line between the two. Don't get me wrong the back story of all the characters proves to be quite interesting but the main story comes in as a afterthought which is a bit of a disappointment. Never having to read any of the comics I cannot really say if this is A directing choice or an editing choice. One thing that is proving to be quite clear is that DC based comic films or going downhill in the recent years where as Marvel is the opposite. All in all if you do go to see this, go without the influence of the hype as it is nowhere near what it was said to be. In closing, I better stop writing now as I don't want this to turn into another essay. Just see and judge for youselves.
